i thought that i
by gregory edward procopio

I thought that I
Had forgotten how to love anyone
But I was wrong
I thought that I
Had forgotten all the words
But I still can sing the song

I thought that I
Was blind and could not see
I thought that you were gone forever
But you have come back to me

I thought that I
Was destined to walk this road on my own
I thought that I
Was left here all alone

I thought that the memories would fade
But you have never left my mind
I would give my life in trade
If you were the one I’d find

I thought that I
Would have to wait here till the end
But you are always with me
You are my best friend
You listen to all my woes
You know the secrets that no one knows
You are in my head and in my heart
You are the one who filled my every part
You are my Lord and King
I await here anxiously
For what ever this life you bring
I am your faithful servant
And I am always ready to do your will
I hope to make you so very proud
As my destiny I fulfill

The End

I am just your average aspiring poet. I have been through a lot in my life and refuse to look back with any regrets. Life is way too short to be stuck in a rut. So shake off the funk and breathe in a freash breath of air. tomorrow will come no matter what you do. so be ready and take the world by storm.procopio@hotmail.com.
